Lake Manyara
Day 01 of 08

Lake Manyara

Depart Arusha and travel west to Lake Manyara National Park, arriving for an afternoon game drive. The park is narrow but exceptionally varied, running from groundwater forest to open floodplain, and is known for its tree-climbing lions and large baboon troops.

Serengeti
Day 02 of 08

Serengeti

Lake Manyara to the Serengeti

Travel on across the Ngorongoro highlands and out onto the Serengeti plains, with game viewing en route as you enter the park. Arrive at the camp in the late afternoon in time for an evening drive.

Serengeti
Day 03 of 08

Serengeti

The Seronera Valley

A full day in the central Serengeti and the Seronera valley, whose permanent water supports resident lion, leopard and cheetah throughout the year. The valley is among the most reliable places in Africa for all three.

Serengeti
Day 04 of 08

Serengeti

Following the Herds

A further full day in the Serengeti, with the route shaped by where the migration is at the time of travel. Between July and October this means the northern reaches and the Mara River crossings; in January and February it means the southern calving plains.

Serengeti
Day 05 of 08

Serengeti

The Serengeti at Leisure

A day to explore at your own pace, with the option of a dawn hot air balloon flight over the plains followed by a champagne breakfast, or a long unhurried drive into a quieter sector of the park.

Ngorongoro
Day 06 of 08

Ngorongoro

The Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater

Travel south-east out of the Serengeti, pausing at Olduvai Gorge, where some of the earliest hominin remains were found, before climbing to the crater rim in the afternoon. The view from the rim over the crater floor is remarkable.

Ngorongoro
Day 07 of 08

Ngorongoro

Into the Crater

A full descent onto the crater floor for a day of game viewing within its walls. The crater holds black rhino, large lion prides, elephant bulls with exceptional tusks, and dense plains game across a compact and enclosed area.

Day 08 of 08

Arusha

The Crater to Arusha

A final morning on the rim before descending through the highlands and returning to Arusha, arriving in the afternoon for an onward flight or a transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
