Diani Beach lies south of Mombasa along Kenya’s Indian Ocean coastline, fringed by a coral reef that keeps the inshore water calm and clear. It pairs naturally with the parks of Tsavo and Amboseli, both a manageable drive or short flight away, which makes it the standard way to end a Kenyan safari.
The beach itself runs for several kilometres, backed by remnant coastal forest that still holds populations of Angolan colobus monkey. Diving and snorkelling on the reef, dhow sailing trips and the historic town of Mombasa are the usual additions to a stay here.
