This page explains what happens if you need to cancel a confirmed safari. It forms part of our full Terms & Conditions.
Cancellations must be made in writing, by email to info@thebigfivesafari.com. The cancellation takes effect from the date we confirm receipt, not the date you send it.
Because we hold and pay for lodges, permits and vehicles on your behalf well in advance, cancellation fees are calculated as a percentage of your total trip cost, based on how much notice you give us before your travel start date:
If some, but not all, of your party cancels, the fees above apply to the cancelling travellers’ share of the cost. We will always confirm the revised total in writing before proceeding.
Where we cancel your trip for reasons within our control, you receive a full refund. See our Terms & Conditions for cancellations arising from events beyond our control, such as civil unrest or park closures.
